2nd Place with a Twist...

The NJP has done it again. We have moved up one more spot. On the heels of another blistering 3-1 performance we have jumped up to second place. Technically we are tied with 2 other teams points-wise, but we eat them for breakfast when it comes to pin count. Much to our dismay though, El Presidente Hooker's 1st place team took four, leaving us 4 out of first. Speaking of El Presidente's team, that is where the twist comes in.

Next week, our hopes and dreams for this season come to a head in a epic struggle for peace and justice. The NJP vs El Presidente and his Cabinet. If we drop any games to these guys we will effectively take ourselves out of the title picture. It doesn't get any bigger than this. Tune in next week to see if The NJP Bowling Venture Capitalists Organization can shake it up one more time.

NJP WEBSITE EXPANSION...

In an attempt to give us a more rounded web presence I have started to establish a homepage for THE NJP. It will live outside of this blog, and will house pictures and other tidbits of THE NJP for all to share whenever they like. I see it as being the face, and this blog being the mind. It is all very temp right now, but you can still check it out-THE NJP...THE WEBSITE

Shame on Who?

Debra Lafave had her case dropped in an Ocala, Florida court room this week. She had been accused of having an affair with a 14-year old boy. Lafave, 25, was a teacher and was alleged to have had sex with the teen in a car while the boy's cousin drove them about town. Lafave says that she is a "Strong Christian woman" and will put this behind her. She has also come the realization that she is bipolar and will need extensive counseling for years to come.

Now there are two ways to come at this story; position1 says, "Good for her. She did nothing wrong anyway", and position 2 says "She needs to be locked up, NOW!!". I do believe that how an individual feels on this issue is based upon one's sex, age and family situation (i.e. kids or no kids). The NJP by no means condones ANY kind of acts which may be sexual in nature and include people under aged. Personaly, as a father, I am quite upset about this. I could not imagine someone hurting one of my children. Not only do I not want to imagaine the pain my child would go through, I am also thinking about the pain my entire family would go through after I would have to pay for the actions taken after I get my hands on that individual whom has violated my child. The fact that this woman is getting off (no pun intended) is deplorable and the people whom are allowing an addmitted pedophile go free.
Another reason I am upset at this the situation is that if this were a 25-year old man and a 14-year old girl had a relationship such as this, the man would have long ago been strung up by his balls. Somehow, in the minds of the public, we have found that is more acceptable for 25- year old woman to have a sexual relationship with a 14-year old boy. Why is this true? A theory is that woman commonly the victim in these cases. If a woman cries "rape", a man's life is basiclly over, whether the accusations are true or not. Therefore it is a little harder for us to see the woman as the perpatrator. I just think this is a message that we are raised with and never question.
The 26-year old in me screams something totally different. Believe it or not, I too was once a 14-year old boy. All I had to do to be arroused was to think of anything. Absolutly anthing would have done it for me bak then. It just goes back to the fact "You cant Rape the willing". Keep that in mind this evening folks.

Shake up at the top...

Things got a little shook up at the top this week. We have a new 1st place team. It isn't us though. El Presidente Tony's team took the top spot with a raucous performance. The first place Unpredictables shimmied their way into 4th by getting shalacked by the then 4th, now 2nd place 3 R's. In case you haven't figured it out, we are still in 3rd. We are now one game out of second and 3 out of first. That happened because of a another 3-1 week. It could have been 4, but we lost the first game by 4 measly pins.

PeelBerry led us this week with a 680+ pin series. All in all we had another great week, but we are running out of time with only 4 weeks until the position round. I have full faith that The NJP Bowling Artists Commune will be right there in the running when the dust settles.

Good News

Well folks, I have some good news, my computer should be here by the end of the week and ShrekZilla will become a much more regular figure on this fine posting site. If we would like to know details, I am getting a Dell Notebook. This will work best for my family and I since it will be quite easy to simply fold up and put away from the kids. At a reasonable price I am pretty happy with my investment. Hopefully this will allow NJPMan and I to really get this shit started in the direction that I know we both want to go.

Now on to bigger and better issues. As you have already heard, we managed to get 3 from the ever so pesky ghost. They are a tough one to beat, so overall I am pretty happy with the out come. None of us got a 600 series, which was odd for us with how we had been bowling lately. I think that we picked a good week to do it though since all we had to do was beat ourselves we basicly knew what we had to get every time. Next week we dont have a team that is really in the running. Yet I do believe that they have the ability to blow up pretty big time and could serve as some kind of threat to our march to the top. I still think that we will be able to overcome.

Well folks, gotta go. Like I said, I should be on here A LOT more often coming up very shortly, but for now, I'm out like "Nicole".

We ain't afraid of no ghost...

This week we took on the dreaded ghost team and walked away mostly unfrightened. We took 3 from those pesky poltergeists, and in the process slipped a bit in the standings. We are still in third place, but both the second and first place teams took 4. No worries though. We still have 6 weeks to go, and for the NJP Bowling Knowledge Conglomerate, that is an eternity.

RECAPTION!!!
3-1 this week

We're off to the races...

Yowsers!! Things are definitely tightening up in the Verona After Hour Bowling League extravaganza. We are unfortunately still in 3rd, but you can't fit a score card through the space separating us and first. The top three teams have 69, 68, and 67 wins respectively. Anything can, and probably will happen between now and the end of the season. All I know is that The NJP Bowling Think Tank is ready.

I won't run down everything, because my main man ShrekZilla(WELCOME BACK!!!) broke it down for yah, but I can't forget the...

RECAPTIONARY TIME FRAME
4-0 A-freakin' gain
No High Game
No 50/50
Another Candy Bar for Charity
3, maybe 4 Pitchers
23-1 for the last 6 weeks

NJP 4 LIFE!!!

Double True!!

Hey folks, sorry about not posting for a while but my access to a computer is a little limited. Hopefully I can change that before to long and can be a little more regular.

This week the NJP continued on one of the most torrid paces in known history. We took 4 more points. PeelBerry led the way with what I believe was a 647. Myself, I bowled a 599. It sure does seem like since me and PeelBerry and I got our new balls one of us seems to excel with the other one not far behind. NJPMan continued some of his struggles with spares, but we are sure that he will soon again regain his presence on the lanes of M-66. Luckily for us the first place team actually dropped a couple of games this week which has now put us into a possition that if the cards fall in our favor, we could over take first place with a good week. The only problem I forsee is next week. We are going against the ever pesky ghost team who sure seems to come up and bite you everytime. Yet I do think that we can overcome.

There is our bowling update. Yet I am not done. I think it is worth speaking about some the evils that I am seeing more and more of in our society. One such event that comes to mind is the unwarrented assault of a young man in a rural area of west Michigan. The young man was walking the 6 mile trek home from work when a car with 3 "gentelman" stopped and proceeded to beat this mand with fists, boots and baseball bats. To do believe that the young man in still fighting for his life in a west Michigan hospital. One of the sad things about this incident is that one of the young men in the car was an individual that the victim went to college with. Does anyone else see how bad this is? A young man who was just walking home after a hard nights work was almost killed for what? Fun? Pure amusment? If you ask me, no answer is acceptable. Since when did a Saturday night out with the boys include a good old fashioned jumping.

This incident strikes a cord with me because a similar thing happened to me and one of my friends. It was actually my birthday about 12 years ago and I had gone to walk my friend over so that we may play some video games and just be a couple of 15 year-old boys. At about the halfway point of our trip a car pulled up across the street from us. I noticed that this was a car that I had seen before. It was the car of an individual that went to the high school near my junior high. This fellow also had a brother that was in my grade at the junior high. The car then stopped and with 2 young men hanging out the window berating us with various verbal assaults. "You guys think your hard?" was there taunt of choice. My friend and I ignored this and continued on our kind of lauging off everything. Then 3 or 4 young men emerged from the car and approached us. My friend saw our classmate and said "Whats up Victor?". And without warning one of the other men slugged my friend. He then turned and ran, knowing that he was out numbered. I was pushing my bike and could not make such a hasty getaway. I was soon caught and thrown to th ground where I was repeatedly kicked and punched. Finally it all stopped and the young men ran back to there vehical and hurried off. I still, to this day, carry a scar on my lip from that day. It serves as a reminder of stupidity. I remember thinking the rest of the way home what I had done to deserve this. And the answer in the same with the comatose young man. There is no answer. It just proves a sad state of affairs for our community and society that hasnt changed for at least 12 years.

Well folks I'm out. Holla Back!!!!!
